Resistir Gozando: Empowering LGBTQIA+ Youth in the Americas

We work with youth-led groups and organizations in Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico to create safe spaces where LGBTQIA+ youth can express their identities, strengthen their autonomy, and foster intergenerational solidarity.

Resistir Gozando (Joyful Resistance) is led by GFC in collaboration with youth-led grassroots organizations in Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. This initiative aims to create safe, dignified, and empowering spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth to express their identities, exercise their rights, and build joyful, resilient futures.

GFC’s support for the Resistir Gozando initiative centers on three main pillars:

  1. Preventing violence and discrimination by providing core funding and flexible capacity-building support to a core group of partner organizations.
  2. Strengthening youth autonomy and access to rights by launching a regional social media campaign highlighting LGBTQIA+ stories and perspectives.
  3. Promoting partner collaboration and exchange by organizing a convening and an arts festival to build working relationships within and beyond the core co-design partners.

Through these efforts, Resistir Gozando seeks to amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ youth, foster intergenerational solidarity, and advance a more inclusive and equitable society.
