Europe & Central Asia

Across Europe and Central Asia, young people are rising for justice, equality, and democracy. With our local partners, we’re helping them build safer, fairer communities where every child and youth can thrive.

Regional focus

Across Europe and Central Asia, young people are standing up for justice, equality, and democracy in a region marked by deep inequalities and shifting political realities. From Western Europe’s cost-of-living crisis to youth unemployment in the Balkans and shrinking civic space in Central Asia, young people face significant barriers – yet they bring energy, creativity, and resilience to transform their communities.

Working to fill the gaps, our community-based partners provide critical support to children and youth who would otherwise be forgotten. They focus on strengthening young people’s voices, wellbeing, and leadership through initiatives that combine local ownership, social action, and care.

But our partners cannot face these challenges or leverage these opportunities alone: they need you. Your help brings safety and opportunity to thousands of children across Europe and Central Asia.

Strong partnerships power our work

Knowing that there are people willing to stand with us even when everything around feels unstable gave our team a morale boost and helped us mobilize further. We truly value this kind of support during the most difficult times.

NGO Innovation Action, Ukraine

To me, being an ambassador is all about making sure mine and other’s voices get heard by those with the power to make change, or in some cases to be able to make a change myself with my peers for the betterment of young people. It’s a privilege and an honour to be so closely involved with something as important as raising awareness and helping navigate through domestic abuse.
