Founded in 2013, Autism Voice is a community-based organization in South London that supports Black and global-majority families facing unique challenges in accessing autism services. Recognizing that cultural differences, language barriers, and a lack of inclusive spaces meant that many autistic children and their families were not receiving the care they deserved, Autism Voice set out to ensure that families had access to autism services that reflected their lived experiences.

GFC and AfriKids both receive funding from People’s Postcode Lottery, but I soon realized we have a lot more in common than just a funder. We share an unwavering passion and deep commitment to contributing to the development of the African continent, grounded in a desire to see it flourish, fully utilize its resources, and secure a brighter future for its people, particularly its youth.

Modern masculinity: a tale of two Jamies

Masculinity has been under the microscope recently. Netflix’s Adolescence thrust the topic into the national consciousness, delving into issues created by social media, negative role models, and peer pressure on young boys. In contrast, we've also recently seen how social media can present positive models of masculinity through Jamie Laing, who ran ran 5 ultra-marathons to raise funds for Comic Relief. In a series of interviews and video clips for BBC Radio One along the way, Jamie has been open and vulnerable about how tough the challenge was both physically and mentally.
