Selina Komers

Learning & Evaluation Adviser

Selina conducts strategic research and organizational learning across GFC’s departments. She facilitates planning for major funding decisions, researches and clarifies GFC’s thematic focus areas, and translates organizational insights into user-friendly communications and advocacy materials. She led GFC’s Global Impact Study and continues to strengthen GFC’s influence in the philanthropic sector through evidence-based storytelling. Previously, Selina has conducted research about education and social inclusion for the European Commission, Plan International, UNICEF, Google, and the UK Department for Education. She has a background in teaching and running grassroots educational programs (e.g. informal schools and youth centers). She has a degree in Education Studies (philosophy & sociology of education) from the University of Cambridge. Selina is from Istanbul and speaks Turkish, English, French, and conversational Arabic.
