Kulsoom Khan
Senior Regional Co-Director, Asia & Senior Advisor, People and Strategy
Kulsoom Khan co-leads Global Fund for Children’s grantmaking and capacity-building work in Asia as Senior Regional Co-Director and serves as Senior Advisor, People & Strategy, helping shape the organization’s global People & Culture vision. In this cross-organizational role, she partners with leadership to strengthen people strategy, organizational culture, and equity-centered systems that enable staff and partners to thrive. Kulsoom brings extensive experience in social innovation and a deep commitment to child protection and empowerment. Prior to joining GFC, she led multiple initiatives at Ashoka, including managing global relations with Asia offices, developing the Global Fellow Security program, and expanding Ashoka’s presence in Pakistan. She supported social entrepreneurs, designed and delivered security trainings for human rights defenders, and strengthened ecosystems for social entrepreneurship through fundraising and network facilitation. Kulsoom helped launch the Child Rights Initiative with Vision in Pakistan and currently serves on its board. She previously served on the board of Accountability Lab and is Chair of the Elevate Children Funders Group Steering Committee. Kulsoom holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Law & Society from American University and is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
