Born in Rio de Janeiro, Evelin Salles has been living happily in Bahia for 17 years. Mother to a teenage son, Joaquim, she’s been an activist in the field of vulnerable youth for 25 years. She started working at Viva a Vida 16 years ago, first as a Social Worker specializing in health and now as the organization’s General Coordinator. Viva a Vida works is dedicated to anti-racist education and promotes youth leadership and community mobilization to empower adolescents, young people, and children to combat racism and promote human rights.
