Addressing Root Causes (ARC) Initiative: Fostering Community-Led Change in Bangladesh

The Addressing Root Causes (ARC) Initiative report captures Global Fund for Children’s community-led approach to tackling the underlying causes of child and youth exploitation in Bangladesh. Implemented through six grassroots partner organizations, the ARC Initiative empowers communities to lead change using the SALT (Support, Appreciate, Listen, Transfer) framework and the Community Life Competence Process (CLCP).

Developed in collaboration with UBORA and Matter of Focus, this report showcases how ARC strengthens trust, reflection, and collective action across individuals, organizations, and communities. Through more than 2,400 SALT conversations and ongoing learning cycles, the initiative has fostered self-awareness, agency, and sustainable local leadership.

The report illustrates how community-driven processes are reducing inequality, promoting gender equity, and building wellbeing and resilience at individual, organizational, and community levels.

A summary report and a visual version is also available for download, offering a concise and engaging overview of key learnings, impact stories, and the power of community-led transformation.
