The young people most at risk are those who are often overlooked. From Mexico to Bangladesh, many children living in group settings like informal settlements, orphanages, shelters, and refugee camps have nowhere else to go. Many more live in communities that lack access to basic necessities like clean water, soap and sanitizer, and accurate information. Children with underlying health conditions, like HIV, are at even greater risk.
Grassroots organizations are on the frontlines ready to respond. With local knowledge and community connections, these GFC partners are prepared to provide emergency services, supplies, and protection to young people who most need it. And, as these local leaders mobilize to protect the children and youth in their communities, we need to rally behind them.
Global Fund for Children (GFC) UK Trust, created in 2006, is a UK registered charity (UK charity number 1119544). We work to generate vital income, create new fundraising opportunities, and raise awareness of the invaluable work of GFC’s grassroots grantees. Our aim is to extend the reach of GFC in the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
