Global Fund for Children announces new Trustee

Global Fund for Children is pleased to announce that Chris Edwards has joined the Global Board of Trustees.

Global Fund for Children’s directors and trustees provide guidance and leadership grounded in deep expertise and experience. Their contributions are an integral part of our work supporting community-based organizations that advance the rights and opportunities of children and youth around the world.

Meet Chris Edwards

Chris Edwards most recently served as General Counsel at Interserve Group Limited in the United Kingdom, joining the company after it had entered insolvency. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles with leading international natural resources companies. Chris began his career at a magic circle law firm and has lived and worked in both Hong Kong and Amsterdam.

His expertise includes advising listed company boards and senior management teams on legal, compliance, and governance matters; serving as an integral part of executive leadership teams; and managing risk in complex international and emerging market environments. Chris has a strong track record of building successful Legal, Compliance, and Company Secretariat teams from the ground up. He brings deep expertise in restructuring and insolvency, litigation and dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, project finance, commercial contracts, supply chain management, governance, compliance, and regulatory investigations.

Alongside his extensive legal and governance experience, Chris is also deeply aligned with GFC’s mission and approach to supporting community-based organizations around the world.

Based in the United Kingdom, Chris is passionate about strengthening legal and governance functions to help organizations operate more strategically and effectively. He is particularly committed to building high-performing teams, improving processes, and supporting organizations to maximize their impact.

“Having been fortunate enough to join a GFC field trip to Kolkata, I witnessed firsthand the enormous dedication and hard work of the GFC team and its partners, as well as the meaningful impact they have on local communities living in very challenging circumstances,” Chris said. “I am grateful for and humbled by the opportunity to contribute.”
