Sylvia Morwabe
Programs Officer, Africa
Sylvia Morwabe serves as a Programs Officer for Africa, supporting the Thriving Through Play Initiative and broader work in the region. With a background in law, advocacy, program and operational management, Sylvia holds extensive experience in designing and leading impactful programs that empower underserved and at-risk communities, particularly youth and children, by fostering opportunities for education, advocacy, and socio-economic growth. Before joining GFC, Sylvia served as the Director of Operations and General Counsel at Crime Si Poa®, a nonprofit organization in Kenya, where she developed and led initiatives that engaged youth in building safer, more resilient communities. A trained lawyer and a dedicated human rights and community advocate, Sylvia is passionate about creating inclusive, just, and empowered communities where every child and youth can thrive. She is fluent in English and Kiswahili and has intermediate proficiency in French.
