Faith Foundation (India)
Shannon Dona Massar is the co-founder and director of the Faith Foundation. Shannon belongs to the Khasi tribe but also identifies herself as a Monpa and an Adi because she believes that it is her right to stay connected to her other roots. Shannon Dona Massar has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from SNDT women’s university, Mumbai. She has extensive experience in Child Rights and in the field of anti-trafficking in rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration. She has worked with reputed organizations in Mumbai, India like Justice and Care, Save the Children India, and SOSVA/FHI. Her experiences and her local understanding of the vulnerabilities of girls and young women in her communities led to the inception of the organization Faith Foundation which was co–founded with three other women. The word “Faith” means Faith in the work, people, and communities which the organization works with.
