Nicholas Antonas

Nicholas Antonas is an energy and resources counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP’s London office. Nicholas has ten years’ experience advising international energy and resources companies and investors. He was named a Europe Rising Star for Energy 2019 by Euromoney Legal and “an associate to watch” by Chambers and Partners in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Nicholas has co-edited and authored numerous articles on energy related topics.  Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Master of Laws from the University of California at Berkeley. He is passionate about providing pro bono legal assistance to worthy organizations and causes. In addition to assistance Nicholas has provided to GFC over the years, he is an active member of his firm’s pro bono organization, has provided training to representatives from African governments with newfound energy resources, and has managed a number of multi-jurisdictional human rights research mandates, including conducting in-country research. Nicholas has proudly supported GFC for a number of years, and as a Global Ambassador he is excited to continue providing pro bono legal assistance to GFC and to use his network to connect GFC to new people and opportunities.
