Center for Advocacy and Sustainable Empowerment (Sierra Leone)
Mariama is the Executive Director of Center for Advocacy and Sustainable Empowerment (CASE-SALONE), an organization dedicated to advancing the rights and promoting the wellbeing of women and children. She is a female youth who strives to create positive change through transformative leadership. Mariama’s commitment to women’s and girls’ empowerment began in her childhood, when she actively participated in various organizations aimed at empowering women and girls, including the Children Forum Network (CFN), Amuloma children’s club, and Beauty with Brains. As a young girl, Mariama stood for the protection of girl’s rights in her community, bravely challenging norms that excluded them from being included in decision-making. As a leader, she has remained steadfast in women’s empowerment, personally providing micro-loan support to help women achieve financial independence. Within her first six months as Executive Director, she has made significant strides in fundraising, demonstrating her ability to diversify the organization’s funding. Her innovative approach and relentless dedication have positioned CASE-SALONE as a central force in community development, ensuring it continues to impact the lives of women and children, especially girls.
