Elise Derstine
Content Strategy Adviser
Elise Hofer Derstine serves as a content strategist and copywriter for Global Fund for Children while also providing general support to the Communications and Marketing team. Elise has more than ten years of experience writing for nonprofit organizations and foundations, helping them to tell their stories and raise funds for their causes. In addition to GFC, she worked for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, a competitive college scholarship for future public servants, and the Catalogue for Philanthropy Greater Washington, a DC-based guide to giving and volunteering. She has also taught feature writing at the college level. Elise is a published poet and co-author of two Global Fund for Children books, Music Everywhere! and What We Wear. She holds a bachelor’s degree in German and English from Goshen College, and is proficient in German.
