Christine Burkhart

Senior Vice President, Development

Christine Burkhart oversees Global Fund for Children’s global revenue generation and marketing and communications. With more than 20 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, and international development, she leads efforts to deepen GFC’s partnerships, grow its donor community, and amplify its mission to improve the lives of children and youth worldwide.

Christine manages a dynamic team that secures philanthropic investment, stewards institutional and individual donors, and strengthens GFC’s visibility through strategic storytelling and stakeholder engagement. She brings a strong commitment to social impact and equity, ensuring that the organization’s resource development and outreach efforts reflect its values.

Prior to GFC, Christine served as partnership manager for the American Red Cross’s Haiti Recovery Program and held roles at the National Democratic Institute and Central American Medical Outreach. She has served as an elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Washington, D.C. and on the boards of the Out for Work Initiative – a youth-centered employment project for LGBTQ+ individuals – and H.O.P.E. Haiti.

Christine holds a master’s degree in public policy from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Baldwin Wallace University. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic and speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
