Camelia Proca
Association for Liberty and Gender Equality (Romania)
Camelia Proca is the founder and director of the Association for Liberty and Gender Equality – A.L.E.G., a non-governmental organization active since 2004 in Romania and Eastern Europe on promoting gender equality and preventing and combating gender-based violence. Camelia has a diploma in the equal status and rights of women from Raol Wallenberg Institute in Sweden and served as board member of the European WAVE network. Together with A.L.E.G. team, Camelia has established innovative educational programs on healthy relationships and empowering survivors based on peer to peer support, guided by professionals working from a rights-based approach, and replicating these models to other countries.
