GFC now accepts crypto donations

October 14, 2021 | Donor News

Donors can make gifts to Global Fund for Children in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more than 40 other cryptocurrencies, through GFC’s new fundraising initiative with the Giving Block.

GFC strives to make the process of donating easy and rewarding, because the support of its donors powers crucial programs for children and youth. We now accept cryptocurrency donations, so making a gift to GFC online has never been easier.

By accepting crypto, GFC is offering supporters with cryptocurrency portfolios the ability to support the organization in a tax-efficient way. In the United States, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) classifies cryptocurrency donations as property, meaning they are not subject to capital gains tax and are tax-deductible on the donor’s tax return.

Through a crypto fundraising initiative with the Giving Block and Gemini Trust Exchange, GFC donors can now give crypto, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and many more. Check out the FAQ on our crypto donation page for more details.

GFC partners with hundreds of innovative local organizations around the world, helping them deepen their impact and build their capacity to improve the lives of children and youth. With a crypto gift, donors can become a vital part of GFC’s efforts to create a brighter future for young people worldwide.
