Core funding is central to GFC’s trust-based, flexible grantmaking model. Through unrestricted, long-term support, you strengthen community-based organizations — enabling them to build resilience, invest in leadership, and respond to the priorities of children and young people in their communities. This shifts power to local leaders and fuels sustainable, community-led change.
Global Fund for Children brings together funders and donors to pool resources to address complex issues affecting children and young people more effectively. These ‘collaborative funds’ combine financial contributions and expertise, enhance impact, foster innovative solutions, and promote collective accountability. The Strength of Girls' Initiative supports a diverse network of grassroots organizations in Yucatán, Mexico. The initiative works to advance the rights and agency of Mayan girls and adolescents while increasing their access to opportunities and essential services.

Supporting Early Education and Development (SEED)
The SEED initiative supports community-based organizations in strengthening their programs for infants and young children and in creating an environment that nurtures and engages children, families, and communities. Together they share experiences and expertise that highlight and evolve some of the best practices in early childhood development, including child-centered approaches, play-based learning, multigenerational programming, and program designs that integrate health and nutrition.
