Safety and wellbeing, Youth power
Together with community-based partners around the world, we can create meaningful change for children, young people and communities — from improved education and accessibility to reducing violence, especially against girls.
Every gift counts & this winter every donation will be doubled thanks to a $10,000 match!
The learning brief Grassroots Grantmaking at Global Fund for Children outlines the who, what, where, and how of Global Fund for Children’s (GFC) approaches to funding and supporting community-based changemakers. Since 1997, we have invested over $63 million in more than 1,000 partner organizations across 90 countries.
GFC’s funding supports education, gender justice, youth power, climate resilience, solidarity in emergencies, and safety and wellbeing, while emphasizing flexible, long-term funding and non-financial support. GFC also prioritizes participatory grantmaking in which young people and community members are involved in decision-making processes. This resource highlights GFC’s role as a global intermediary funder, mobilizing resources from various foundations and offering critical support to organizations that often lack access to traditional funding sources.
