Palmer Shepherd
Vice President, Operations and Governance
Palmer Shepherd provides leadership for Global Fund for Children’s operations, technology, governance, human resources, and internal systems and works to enact system improvements throughout the organization. He is the Board liaison and oversees database operations and donation processing, ensures teams have what they need for productive workspaces, maintains safe and secure systems and infrastructure, and works to improve organizational culture and to articulate GFC’s mission, vision, and values. Palmer has over 20 years of nonprofit experience, with a strong focus on addressing the operational needs of nonprofits and creating strong and efficient infrastructures. His expertise includes operations, technology, donor databases, online fundraising, communications, and human resources. Prior to joining GFC, Palmer worked for the National Breast Cancer Coalition, the Dallas Zoological Society, and Meridian International Center. Palmer earned a master’s degree in music from Carnegie Mellon University and a global master’s degree in international relations from Webster University, where his studies took place in Austria, England, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Thailand.
