Global Fund for Children announces new Board member
Global Fund for Children is pleased to announce the election of longtime GFC supporter and Global Ambassador Ian Glasner to the Global Board of Directors.
Ian Glasner has been an ongoing supporter of GFC for more than 15 years, and in 2019, he joined GFC’s Global Ambassadors program.
“Global Fund for Children has been a part of my life since 2005, when, as a 12-year-old, I decided to donate my Bar Mitzvah gifts from friends and family to GFC to help children around the world,” Ian said. “GFC’s work taught me from an early age that with the right strategy and execution, I could make a difference in the lives of others. GFC gave me the opportunity not just to give back to others, but also to improve my own career by giving me my first professional internship as a 17-year-old in 2010.”
“I am so honored and excited to continue my relationship with GFC by joining the Global Board,” he added. “GFC is a special organization with an incredible team and set of partners. What really makes GFC so special is its model – partnering with local organizations and enabling local leaders to make an impact in their own communities. GFC has come a long way since its founding, and I am honored and excited to be a part of its continued journey and growth.”
GFC’s directors and trustees provide guidance and leadership drawn from a deep body of expertise and knowledge. Their contributions are an integral part of our work supporting community-based organizations advancing the rights and opportunities of children and youth around the world.
“I am excited to welcome Ian to GFC’s Global Board of Directors,” said John Hecklinger, GFC’s President and CEO. “Ian has been a steadfast supporter of GFC’s work since he was a teenager, and he has continued to champion the organization as a Global Ambassador. His passion for GFC’s mission, combined with his business expertise, make him a great asset to our work.”
Ian is a Managing Director and the Chief of Staff for the Digital Business Services organization at HSBC, based in London.
