Elena Figueroa
Program Officer
Elena Figueroa works as a Program Officer on Global Fund for Children’s Americas team, where she coordinates the Supporting Early Education and Development initiative in Honduras. Prior to joining GFC, Elena worked as a Research Management Analyst in the Directorate of Scientific Research at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), supporting the creation of 40 research groups, three research centers, two research observatories, and two research institutes. She has also been a Professor of Psychology in UNAH’s Faculty of Psychological Sciences, and she previously worked for 12 years as a tutor for children and adolescents at a center for integral development. Elena has a master’s degree in economic and social research methodologies, as well as diplomas in migration and development, dramatic arts, and gender equality. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
