Marco Antonio Blanco

Marco Antonio Blanco works on the Americas team at Global Fund for Children. He brings five years of professional experience as an educator, researcher, and grant writer in Central America. In his previous role, Marco worked as a grants associate for Fabretto Children’s Foundation, where he raised funding from institutional and corporate donors to support educational programs in Nicaragua. From early child education interventions to income-generating ventures for adolescents, Marco sought to increase access to quality education and vocational training opportunities for underserved children and youth. Prior to this, Marco designed impact evaluations and performed data collection for American Nicaraguan Foundation’s programs related to WASH, agriculture, and food insecurity. Marco holds a master’s degree in politics from the New School for Social Research, along with a bachelor’s degree from Mercyhurst University in English literature and philosophy. He is fluent in Spanish and previously taught social studies at the high school level for three years.
