Christine Burkhart
Vice President, Strategic Partnerships
Christine Burkhart leads Global Fund for Children’s development team, raising funds to support GFC and its partners around the world. She builds collaborative partnerships with a wide range of donors based on GFC’s values of serving our partners first and taking risks for change. Christine is an experienced fundraiser, writer, and humanitarian response professional. Prior to working at GFC, she served as the partnership manager for the Haiti Recovery Program at the American Red Cross. Christine also worked for the National Democratic Institute, where she was part of an initiative to encourage more women to enter political life, and spent time in Honduras as manager of Central American Medical Outreach’s international volunteer corps and public health programs. In her spare time, Christine has served as an elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in DC and as a board member for the Out for Work Initiative, a youth-centered employment project for LGBTQ+ individuals, and for H.O.P.E Haiti. Christine has a master’s degree in public policy from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Baldwin Wallace University. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic and speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
