Southeast Asia Spark Fund Summary Report
The Southeast Asia Spark Fund Summary Report captures key outcomes from Global Fund for Children’s participatory grantmaking initiative in Vietnam and Thailand. Launched in 2023 with a focus on climate justice, the Spark Fund shifted decision-making power to 15 youth panelists who designed and led the grant process.
Through this model, six youth-led organizations in Thailand and ten individual fellows in Vietnam received flexible, two-year funding to launch climate education initiatives, pilot community resilience projects, and test innovative technologies. Regional convenings and tailored capacity-strengthening supported collaboration, learning, and long-term sustainability.
This snapshot demonstrates how flexible funding, language justice, and youth leadership can create inclusive, community-driven climate solutions while strengthening regional philanthropy.
