WHAT IS THE WEBINAR ABOUT?

Global Fund for Children is committed to raising the voices of young people around the world. To achieve a more just society, youth must have the chance to be heard; to influence policies, programs, and institutions that impact their lives; and to access resources that enable them to lead lives with dignity and independence.

The webinar will introduce our Youth Leadership Council, which serves in an advisory capacity to inform our strategy, as Global Fund for Children adopts a more youth-centered approach. Webinar attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with council members.

WHO ARE THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP PANELIST?

Antonina Lewandowska was cofounder of Te Tematy (That Subject), a youth advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights, and is currently a member of Grupa Ponton, the oldest Polish sex education collective. She has spoken at national and international conference on issues of sex education and women’s rights.

Mete Coban is chief executive of My Life My Say and Councillor for Stoke Newington in the London Borrough of Hackney. He is the youngest councillor ever elected in Hackney, and he set up the All-Party Parliamentary Group on a Better Brexit for Young People.

Nasra Ayub is a lead outreach worker with the youth-led charity Integrate UK and an undergraduate education officer at the Bristol Students Union elected by the students. She has consulted many Ministers, including former and current Prime Ministers, on empowering youth.

Sasha Alexandra Sternik is a third-year student from Moscow, Russia and intern with Fonds mondial pour l'enfance in London. She has started her own business, worked with refugees in Moscow, and served as a Model United Nations ambassador.
