Juan Camilo Sandoval works as a Program Coordinator for the Americas team at Global Fund for Children, where he provides support to GFC partners in Colombia who are part of the Spark Fund, PEAK, and HEEL initiatives. Prior to joining GFC, Juan Camilo led communication and intersectoral coordination efforts in Colombia’s Amazon and Pacific regions, bridging information gaps with Indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities, grassroots organizations, and communities profoundly impacted by the pandemic. He also facilitated dialogues on crucial topics such as mental health, sexual and reproductive health, LGBTQ+ rights restoration, and gender-based violence, addressing pressing public health issues exacerbated during the pandemic. Juan Camilo is a political scientist who has completed postgraduate studies in political theory and interdisciplinary development studies, specializing in grassroots and community development. He speaks Spanish, English, and French.
