Eugenia Vigil Escalera Sánchez
Program Officer
Eugenia Vigil is part of the Americas team at Global Fund for Children, where she works on the Girls Experiencing Migration (GEM) initiative and the Promoting Youth Leadership for Gender Justice initiative, also known as HEEL. She is a popular educator and has accompanied community processes related to food sovereignty and solidarity economy with Indigenous and rural communities in Chiapas, Mexico. Eugenia has experience in caring for land and seeds, environmental education, agroecology, community forest restoration, and ecotechnologies. She has also worked with children in Indigenous, rural, and peri-urban communities in Mexico in Puebla and Chiapas. She holds a degree in environmental sciences and sustainable development, and she is fluent in Spanish and English.
