Kyra Gurney
Communications Manager
Kyra Gurney works on Global Fund for Children’s marketing and communications team, leading writing and copyediting activities for the organization and helping with press outreach efforts. Before joining GFC, Kyra was a reporter at the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, where she collaborated on global investigations related to corruption and money laundering. She has also worked as a reporter at the Miami Herald, where she covered education and local government, and at InSight Crime, a nonprofit investigative journalism outlet based in Colombia. Prior to becoming a journalist, Kyra taught English and coordinated an education program in Tunja, Colombia, through the Fulbright program. She has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature with a minor in Latin American studies from Colorado College. Kyra is fluent in Spanish.
