Through its Emergency Response Fund, Global Fund for Children is supporting grassroots partner organizations in Ukraine and neighboring countries that are providing humanitarian aid and long-term support to children and families affected by the war in Ukraine.

As Russia’s war on Ukraine continues, GFC’s community-based partners are providing food, clothing, fuel, and psychosocial support to children and families under attack in Ukraine and to refugees fleeing the country. They are repurposing and renovating structures to create shelters, long-term housing, and educational spaces; helping children affected by the war access education; assisting LGBTQ+ youth facing discrimination as they seek safety; and so much more.

We have been issuing emergency grants and doing everything we can to ensure our partners have the resources they need to respond to this crisis, both over the short-term and for months and years to come.

HERE’S THE LATEST INFORMATION, WHICH WE’LL BE UPDATING REGULARLY:

• We’ve approved 170 emergency grants totaling $3.3mn 
• We’ve supported 76 grassroots partners in Ukraine, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, and Serbia
• Our partners’ immediate and long-term needs continue to grow
