In order to share regional experiences and learning, The Global Fund for Children (GFC) organized the 2008 Enterprise and Learning Knowledge Exchange, in which 22 of GFC’s grantee partners from across India participated. The purpose of this three-day workshop was to bring together community-based organizations involved in youth development to share experiences and knowledge with each other and to develop ideas for improving and initiating new programs that focus on long-term changes for youth.
Major funding for the Knowledge Exchange in India was provided by Indus Capital, with additional funding by The Goldman Sachs Foundation. These grants enabled GFC to strengthen its investment in grassroots organizations striving to develop the leadership, entrepreneurial, and academic skills of young people across India, with special focus on the cities of Mumbai and Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore).
